bluetidehoops.com Regular Season Ends The Long County teams ended the regular season Monday night in Ludowici against the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets. The games were delayed because of a rare snowfall in the area Friday night. Earler in the week the Blue Tide boys team defeated the Appling Pirates 63-39. Norman Thompson and Robert Reed each had 14 points in the winning effort. The girls did not fair as well as the boys. They played Appling County close for the fist half trailing only 21-17, but The Pirates pulled away in the secong half for a 55-28-Win. India Gamle led the Tide with 16 Pionts. The Appling Ladies won the region.

Weekend Action The Long County Basketball teams were in action over the weekend against the teams from Brantley and Macintosh. The boys tipped the weeknd off against the Herrons of Brantley county and came out victorious 65-52 in Ludowici. Justin Boyd led the Tides balanced attack with 19 points, Donte Brown had 15 and Jalen Futch added13. The Blue Tide did not fare as well in the short trip to Darien, Macintosh got the better of the Tide 61-52. The Tide still holds on the third in the region by only half a game over Charlton County. After a two game win streak the Lady Tide were riding high but the weekend was not kind. The Ladies lost to Brantley 45-25 and by almost the same score to Macintosh 48-25. Both Blue Tide teams will tyr to finish up strong with only two games remaining in the regular season. Both of the contests are at home starting tonight with Appling County and then Jeff Davis comes in Friday night.

Lady Tide Again The Lasdy Tide made it two in a row over Charlton for the year and also have a 2 game win streak in region play. The Boys unfortunately took a loss against the Indians 64-58. both teams are back in action this Friday agains Brantley County in Ludowici.

Lady Tide Win! The Long County girls basketball team got their second win of the year with a 45-37 victory over Peirce County in Ludowici. Both victories have come in region play.
The Long County Boy's came away with a victory also and keeping a hold of third place in the Region. They defeated the Bears 68-61.

Blue Tide Boys move up to 3rd in Region The Long County boys basketball team bounced back from a tough loss to Benedictine Friday night with a 50-36 victory over Tattnal County last night. That put the Tide in sloe possession for third place in the region just ahead of Pierce and Appling. That sets up a very important game this Friday against Pierce in Ludowici. The Tide lost to the Bears back on January 4th 72-71 in Blackshear. The remaining six games should all be exciting as they are all Region contests. The Lady Tide showed some improvement in a loss to Tattnal County but still came up short 48-30. They take on the Pierce County Bears on Friday.
bluetidehoops.com 3 in A Row The Long County Boys team in on a three game win streak and have won five of six and are now in a tie for 3rd in the region with Pierce County. The Tide made good on an earlier loss in the season by defeating Wayne County last Saturday night in Ludowici. They also got a huge win last night in Hazelhurst with a victory over Jeff Davis 66-54. The next eight games are all in region for the Blue Tide and they are still very much in the title hunt. The girls hung tough against Wayne County once again but the Jackets eventually came out on top 54-45. The Lady Tide also dropped the contest to Jeff Davis 48-19. Both teams travel to Savannah on Friday to take on Benedictine/St. Vincents.
bluetidehoops.com Boys win, Girls Fall Long County traveled to Baxley and took on the Appling Pirates Friday night in Baxley. The girls fell 42-23 and the boys cruised to a 66-53 win. Both teams are back in action tonight taking on the Wayne County Yellow Jackets in Ludowici.
bluetidehoops.com Blue Tide lose in Overtime The Blue Tide boy's team brought a two game win streak into the game Tuesday night against Macintosh and seemed for most of the game like they would make it three. Long County led for most of the game behind a strong first half of shooting from Norman Thompson and good team defense the Tide would take a 35-30 halftime lead. Thompson connected on five shots from three point range in the first half and hit seven overall in the game. The girls were only down 10 in the second quarter but the strong MCA girls team would Pull away for a 72-36 victory. Jessica Bryant led the Lady Tide with 10 points, Shamika Richardson and Rhea Rose added 7 apiece. Both teams travel to Baxley, Georgia Friday night and take on the Appling Pirates. The Lady Tide start things off at 6pm.

2 for 2 Both Long County Blue Tide teams came out winners against Charlton County Friday night in Ludowici. The Lady Tide broke through with their first win of the season defeating Charlton County 56-53. The Tide led at the half 28-25 and had built a lead of 10 with just 5:30 left in the game, but The lady Indians went on a 10-1 run to get within a point with just 1:46 remaining. India Gamble was fouled with 8 seconds left and hit both free throws to seal the win for the Tide. Gamble finished with 18 points including 14 in the final period, other scorers were: Tashanna Livingston 10pts, Rhea Rose 9pts, Miranda McDowell 6pts, Jessica Bryant 5pts, Jameka Boyd 4pts, and Raven Rose 4pts. Congrats to Coach Bailey and his squad!
The Long County Boys also led at the half building a 32-27 lead. The Tide would get up by 11 with 2:07 remaining in the third quarter but the Indians would quickly come back and make cut that lead to three by the end of the period 44-41. The fourth quarter was a nail biter as the Blue Tide had to fight off one Charlton rally after another. Donte Brown had a key block with 1:57 remaining and with the Tide only up by two at the 1:28 mark Norman Thompson hit a clutch three pointer to give the Tide some breathing room 63-58. The Indians though would tie tie game with :32 remaining at 63 all. Justin Boyd who scored 11 of his game high 21 in the fourth quarter, hit some free throws in the closing seconds for the Tide victory 66-64. Robert Goslee also had a nice game adding 14 points and Donte Brown added 10. Both teams are in action tonight in Nahunta versus Brantley County.
bluetidehoops.com Pierce Sweeps The Long County teams went to Pierce County Tuesday night and got swept by the Bears. The Blue Tide men lost another heartbreaker 72-71. That is the fourth loss this season by 3 or less points and drops the tide to 1-2 in region play. The Lady Tide hung tough but lost to the Lady Bears 46-36. The Lady Tide are still looking for that first victory of the season. Both teams will be in action this Friday and Saturday against Charlton at Home Friday evening and at Brantley County in Nahunta on Saturday.
bluetidehoops.com Happy New Year! After some time off the Long County Blue Tide basketball teams are back in action. The boys took on Glynn on December 30th and lost that contest at home 74-56. The boys did avenge a loss to Bradwell earlier in the year with a 71-60 win at home last Saturday night. The Lady Tide took a loss to Bradwell 92-24. Both teams are in action tonight against Pierce County in Blackshear. Games start @ 6pm.
bluetidehoops.com Glynn Takes Two The Varsity boys and girls both lost in Tuesday nights games versus Glynn. The Boys score was 74-53 and the girls last 81-30. The Blue Tide will play Glynn again on December 30 at Glynn Academy.

The Girls are still trying for the first win of the season tonight also. The action starts tonight at 6pm in Ludowici.

bluetidehoops.com Blue Tide Teams Open Region Play The Long County Boy's took on the Benedictine Cadets in Ludowici Tuesday Night. The Blue Tide quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead with three point shots from Norman Thompson and Justin Boyd. Boyd would also hit from three point range just before the quarter would end and the Tide took a13-11 lead to end the 1st. The Lady Tide played the St. Vincent's Academy Saints, and the Saints quickly jumped out to a 12-0 advantage in the first three minutes of the opening quarter. The Tide did come back later in the quarter and pulled within nine on a three point shot from Miranda McDowell to make the score 18-9 at the 1:50 mark.
bluetidehoops.com Long County Stung by Jackets The Blue Tide took the short drive to Jesup to take on the Wayne County Yellow Jackets Saturday Night. The Lady Tide was up by a point midway in the 3rd quarter. The Lady Jackets though had too much depth and pulled away in the 4th quarter and won by a final of 50-38. The boys came out and hit six shots from three point range in the first quarter to take a 24-18 lead. The Yellow Jackets came flying back in the 2nd period opening with a 16-6 run and building a 48-41 advantage at halftime. The Blue Tide would cut that lead to 3 by the end of the third 60-57. The fourth quarter was a back and forth affair with the teams swapping the lead several times down the stretch. With the game knotted up at 74, Wayne County took possession of the ball with 8.6 and Nate Evans of the Jackets hit the game winning shot as time expired, final score 76-74. Long County is off until Dec 8th When the Lady Tide take on St. Vincent's Academy and the Boys play Benedictine in Ludowici.
bluetidehoops.com Blue Tide Teams Start 0-2 Long County Varsity Girls and Boys lost in the Season opener at Bradwell Institute, The girls fell 70-26 while the boys lost 74-54. The teams also dropped both games against Liberty County on Saturday night at Long County High. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Tide 79-40 while the Blue Tide boys fell 90-74.
